Royal Scots Gilding Metal Collar Badge

Under Review

Material: Gilding Metal
Size: 33 mm w × 23 mm h
Description: This authentic British military insignia was worn on the uniform lapels of the Royal Scots (The Royal Regiment), the oldest infantry regiment of the line in the British Army. The die-stamped gilding metal badge centers on a prominent Scottish thistle flower head, flanked by two sprawling, jagged thistle leaves that curve outward to create a balanced presentation. The base of the design features an ornate, fluidly scrolling banner that prominently displays the unit title, Royal Scots, in raised capital lettering. The piece measures 33mm wide by 23mm high and displays a bright golden-brass tone across its face. The reverse side is unmarked and hollow-struck, featuring dual copper loop attachments designed to be secured to the tunic fabric with a traditional split pin.
Circa: 1881-1959
