Material: Gilt metal with red and green enamel
Size: 30mm w × 30mm h
Description: This historic uniform fitting is a British Army officer's rank insignia star, commonly referred to in military tailoring as a Bath Star or "Pip". The die-stamped brass insignia is based on the design of the Grand Cross of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath. The layout centers on three crowns arranged inside a central gold medallion, which is framed by a rich red enameled ring bearing the Latin motto "TRIA JUNCTA IN UNO" (Three joined in one). This central module is enveloped by a green enameled laurel wreath and set atop a beautifully textured, four-pointed faceted diamond star burst. The unmarked reverse side features dual wire lugs along with a horizontal locking pin to mount it firmly to uniform shoulder epaulettes.
