Description: This item is an authentic British Army Second World War embroidered officer rank badge, commonly known as a "pip" or a Bath Star. The diamond-shaped insignia is constructed with a thick, textured khaki serge wool fabric base. The center of the badge features heavy raised embroidery executed with thick mercerized cotton thread in cream and light tan colors, forming a stylized Order of the Bath star pattern with a central roundel. The reverse side features raw exposed threads and an unlined back, indicating it was intended to be sewn directly onto a combat uniform shoulder strap.
