Description: This striking bi-metallic military cap insignia is built upon an oblong, elongated eight-pointed starburst struck in white metal. Superimposed onto the center is a gilded brass Garter band inscribed with the Order of the Garter motto, "HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE". The hollow center of the ring showcases a finely detailed, left-facing heraldic lion statant guardant—the Royal Crest—perched firmly atop a horizontal pedestal containing the resolute, blocky battle honor "FIRM". The reverse side features a single, elongated, un-hallmarked metallic slider fastener brazed cleanly behind the crown and running down the vertical center line to wedge into a soldier's woolen cap band.
