Description: This authentic British military insignia belongs to the South Lancashire Regiment (Prince of Wales's Volunteers), a distinguished line infantry regiment of the British Army. The central device features a detailed white-metal Prince of Wales's plume of feathers rising from a small golden coronet, flanked by an intricately flowing scroll inscribed with the motto Ich Dien. Directly below the feathers sits a finely detailed, silver-toned Egyptian Sphinx resting on a solid rectangular plinth that is clearly stamped with the battle honor EGYPT. This entire core emblem is surrounded by a continuous golden brass outer ring, seamlessly shaped by a dense laurel wreath along the sides and bordered by broad upper and lower scrolls that proudly display the unit title, South Lancashire, and the designation, Prince of Wales's Vols.
