Description: This authentic British military insignia belongs to the Sherwood Foresters (Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Regiment), an illustrious line infantry regiment of the British Army. The central device features a finely detailed white-metal stag lodged (couchant) within a dense, circular wreath of oak leaves. A horizontal silver-toned banner bisects the wreath, displaying the regimental title SHERWOOD FORESTERS. This entire central medallion is superimposed upon a textured eight-pointed Maltese cross, topped gracefully by the Imperial King’s Crown. The lower section of the badge is anchored by a large, sweeping golden brass scroll that proudly bears the regional designation, NOTTS & DERBY. The reverse side remains completely unmarked and is fitted with a solid vertical brass slider.
