Material: Bi-metal
Size: 55mm w × 40mm h
Description: This multi-piece cap badge depicts a finely detailed white metal antelope standing in profile on a textured, grassy ground line facing toward the left. The antelope features long, curved horns and wears an ornamental crown or coronet around its neck, which connects to a long, draping chain that loops elegantly beneath its belly and over its back legs. This central white metal figure is securely mounted atop a broad, upwardly curved brass banner scroll that frames the lower half of the design. The banner displays the raised, polished regimental title "ROYAL WARWICKSHIRE" in clean capital lettering against a darkened, textured background. A single, long unmarked brass vertical attachment slider extends downward from behind the central assembly to secure the piece to headgear.
Circa: 1898-1968
Notes:
The distinctive antelope emblem traces its origins back to the 18th century, when the regiment captured a Moorish standard bearing an antelope during the Battle of Almansa in 1707.
