The Royal Scots Cap Badge

Under Review

Material: Bi-metal (white metal star with gilding-metal center)
Size: 57 mm W × 60 mm H
Description: This authentic military head-dress insignia was issued to soldiers serving in The Royal Scots (The Royal Regiment), famously recognized as the oldest and most senior line infantry regiment of the British Army. The multi-layered composition features a highly detailed, multi-rayed Star of the Most Ancient and Most Noble Order of the Thistle struck in a crisp, bright white metal alloy. Affixed firmly to the dead center is a vibrant gilding-metal overlay consisting of a polished oval ring enclosing a beautifully molded, full-length figure of St. Andrew holding his iconic saltire cross, beautifully underscored by an elegantly sweeping regimental title scroll.
Reverse: Two copper lugs for attachment; flat-backed die-struck construction.
Circa: 1890-1952
