Material: Gilding metal (brass)
Size: 38 mm W × 45 mm H
Description: This artifact is an authentic Royal Marines cap badge, traditionally struck in heavy brass for the elite amphibious infantry branch of the British Armed Forces. The central motif displays a distinct, textured globe showing the Eastern Hemisphere with the Atlantic Ocean clearly demarcated. The globe is nested within an open wreath of laurel leaves that represents historic military victories, bound together at the bottom base by a neatly tied ribbon bow. Surmounting the entire central structure is a prominent Tudor Crown—often referred to by collectors as the King's Crown—topped by a stately statant guardant crest lion. The reverse side features two unmarked, vertically aligned copper fixing lugs intended to pin the badge securely to a dark blue wool beret or service cap.
