British Royal Fusiliers (City of London Regiment) Cap Badge

Under Review

Material: Gilt brass
Size: 40mm w × 50mm h
Description: This die-struck brass military cap badge belongs to The Royal Fusiliers (City of London Regiment), one of the premier line infantry units of the British Army. The substantial insignia is molded into the distinctive shape of a flaming, multi-tiered fused grenade. The spherical bomb body at the base is overlaid with a highly detailed Order of the Garter circular band, beautifully embossed with the traditional Anglo-Norman monarchical motto, "HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE" ("Shame on him who thinks evil of it"). Nestled cleanly inside the core of the garter ring is a crisp, multi-layered Tudor Rose, while the entire circular assembly is surmounted by a miniature Tudor-style King's Crown (KC) transitioning directly into the roaring brass flames above. Reverse unmarked with dual horizontal lugs.
Circa: 1901–1952
