Material: Staybrite (Anodized Aluminum)
Size: 30 mm w × 35 mm h
Description: This artifact is an original British Army officer's or senior non-commissioned officer's cap badge representing the Royal Army Service Corps (RASC). Designed with a multi-layered bi-metal construction, the piece features a brilliant, multi-pointed silver-toned star burst that acts as the foundational layer. Placed prominently at the core is a gilded brass circular garter frame inscribed with the solemn Order of the Garter motto, "HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE," surrounding a voided, central Queen Elizabeth II "EIIR" royal cypher. The lower boundary of the star is layered with an integrated, sweeping scroll bearing the designation "ROYAL ARMY SERVICE CORPS". The entire multi-part composition is surmounted by a finely detailed St. Edward’s Crown, signaling an issue period corresponding to the early reign of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Reverse: Dual lugs and pin; stamped J.R. GAUNT LONDON.
Circa: 1953–1965
Notes:

Royal Army Service Corps (RASC) was a vital branch of the British Army responsible for land, coastal, and lake transport, air dispatch, and supplying the forces with food, water, fuel, and general domestic stores. It operated through major conflicts including both World Wars before being split up in 1965.
