Material: Bi-metal (brass and white metal)
Size: 30 mm W × 47 mm H
Description: This striking piece serves as the second official pattern insignia for the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME). It displays a white metal prancing horse with a collar and a fine chain, standing atop a detailed terrestrial globe. Positioned behind the horse is a large, brass lightning bolt representing electrical power, which is surmounted by a classic King's Tudor Crown and an integrated scroll bearing the letters "R•E•M•E".
Reverse: The back view reveals the complex multi-part assembly of the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers King's Crown badge. It clearly shows how the white metal horse component is securely brazed or riveted to the main brass lightning and crown framework. Running vertically down the center of the insignia is a long, flat brass slider mount designed to slide directly into the front band of a service cap. stamped BUTTONS LD B’HAM.
