Description: This authentic die-stamped cap badge was issued to soldiers serving in the Reconnaissance Corps (famously known as the "Recce"), an elite, highly mobile combat arm formed by the British Army in 1941 to spearhead scout operations ahead of main infantry lines. The design centers on a vertical spearhead representing a forward tactical advance, flanked symmetrically by two jagged lightning bolts to symbolize maximum speed and modern communication efficiency. The lower border features an elegantly curved banner proudly tracking the regiment's title in polished block lettering, nestled between two ornately folded accent ribbons.
Reverse: Unmarked with twin copper lugs.
Circa: 1941 – 1946
Notes:
The Reconnaissance Corps (“Recce Corps”) was formed in 1941 to provide mobility and forward scouting for British infantry divisions during the Second World War. The lightning bolts symbolize speed and communication, while the spearhead represents striking reconnaissance. The Corps was absorbed into the Royal Armored Corps in 1946.
