Notes:

The mid-1950s were dominated by British government defense cuts. The Queen's Own Royal Glasgow Yeomanry spent these final years fighting to maintain its independence. Ultimately, in October 1956, the government forced the amalgamation of three legendary Scottish units, the Glasgow Yeomanry, the Lanarkshire Yeomanry, and the 1st/2nd Lothians and Border Horse, to form the Queen's Own Lowland Yeomanry. This effectively dissolved the regiment as a standalone entity.
