Queen Mary's Army Auxiliary Corps Cap Badge

Under Review

Material: Brass
Size: 40mm w × 50mm h
Description: This authentic British Army cap badge features the bold stylized monogram letters "AAC" sitting at the center of a detailed, wrapped laurel wreath. Above the central monogram, an elegant, sweeping title banner proudly spells out "QUEEN MARY'S," which is seamlessly surmounted by the formal Tudor Crown, commonly known as the King's Crown. The reverse side is configured with an unmarked solid vertical slider tab meant to slot smoothly into the front band of a structured service dress hat or soft trench cap.
Circa: 1918-1921
Notes:

This insignia carries immense historical value because it documents a major reorganization point for women serving on the home front and overseas in France during World War I. The unit was originally established in 1917 as the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps (WAAC), but it was formally renamed in the spring of 1918 to honor its royal patron, Queen Mary, who assumed the distinguished rank of Commander-in-Chief of the corps.
