Middlesex Regiment Bi-Metal Cap Badge

Under Review

Material: Bi-metal
Size: 48 mm w × 45 mm h
Description: This authentic Middlesex Regiment (Duke of Cambridge's Own) Other Ranks' cap badge measures 48mm in width by 45mm in height and exhibits a highly detailed bi-metal construction. The background infrastructure features a gilded brass laurel wreath enclosing the coronet and "Ich Dien" motto scroll of the Prince of Wales, overlaid with his three iconic white-metal ostrich feathers. Nestled directly beneath the feathers is the stylized white-metal "G7C" cipher of Prince George, Duke of Cambridge. The brass wreath is anchored at the base by a prominent integral banner reading "ALBUHERA," commemorating the regiment's legendary stand during the Peninsular War, while a sprawling white-metal lower scroll boldly proclaims the unit title, "MIDDLESEX REGT." The reverse profile is completely unmarked and shows evidence of a missing rear mounting slider that was cleanly sheared off or detached during its service life.
Circa: 1910–1966
