Material: Staybrite (Anodized Aluminum)
Size: 30 mm W × 45 mm H
Description: This authentic cap badge is manufactured using a bi-metal Staybrite process, combining a polished gold-anodized aluminum outer structure with a contrasting silver-finished central device. The main layout features the Rod of Asclepius with a serpentine snake tightly coiled around a central staff, reflecting classical symbols of the healing arts. This central motif is framed by a rich, detailed laurel wreath and is proudly surmounted by the St. Edward’s Queen's Crown (QC). The base is anchored by a stylized silver scroll carrying the raised Latin motto "IN ARDUIS FIDELIS," which translates to "Faithful in Adversity."
Reverse: Plain gilt finish with single lug loop for fixing. Marked JR GAUNT LONDON along bottom
Circa: Mid the late 20th Century
Notes:
The Royal Army Medical Corps (RAMC) was established in 1898. The corps provides medical support to all British Army personnel during both peace and wartime operations.
JR Gaunt back mark is not legible, so i am assuming to some degree on this ID.
