Under Review

Material: White metal
Size: 60 mm w × 50 mm h
Description: This historic artifact is an original white metal military cap badge issued to the Manchester Regiment, a renowned line infantry regiment of the British Army. Measuring exactly 60mm wide by 50mm high, the large insignia meticulously replicates the city's complete 1842 armorial bearings, featuring a central shield topped by a sailing ship in full sail and three distinct diagonal bands across the lower field. The shield is supported by a rampant heraldic lion wearing a mural crown on the right, and a collared, chained heraldic antelope on the left, all surmounted by a terrestrial globe mapped with honeybees. This un-hallmarked specimen is designed without a bottom title scroll and features two heavy copper fixing lugs mounted horizontally on the reverse side.
Circa: 1880-1888
