Positioned directly underneath the royal crown is a beautifully detailed gilding-metal Rose of Lancashire, which emphasizes the regiment's deep geographic roots. Flanking the central flower is a broad, sweeping three-part scroll that displays the unit's full title reading "THE LOYAL REGIMENT" in crisp raised capital lettering. The back of the piece is left smooth and unmarked, relying on a long brass vertical slider fitting to slot securely into a standard-issue wool uniform cap.
