Description: The item is an original British Army other ranks' cap badge for the Lovat Scouts Yeomanry, struck in die-stamped white metal. Its design features a traditional Scottish garter strap buckled on the lower left. The strap is boldly inscribed with the Norman-French motto "JE SUIS PREST", which translates directly to "I am ready". Enclosed within the center of the strap is a detailed, left-facing stag's head couped at the neck, derived from the heraldic crest of Clan Fraser of Lovat. The reverse is characterized by a stippled hollow texture from the striking process and features unmarked dual lugs alongside a horizontal pinning mechanism used to secure it to military headdress.
