Description: This historic artifact is an original, die-stamped gilding metal cap badge minted for the Lothians & Berwickshire Imperial Yeomanry, an elite Scottish mounted cavalry regiment of the British Army. The insignia features an intricately textured heraldic garb, or wheatsheaf, tied neatly at the waist with an intertwined cord. This central harvest crest sits majestically atop a beautifully sweeping three-part banner scroll that reads "LOTHIANS" on the left, "YEOMANRY" on the right, and "BERWICKSHIRE IMPERIAL" across the bottom arc. The specimen is un-hallmarked and is configured for field wear with a pair of sturdy copper fixing lugs mounted horizontally across the reverse side.
