Description: This British Army other ranks uniform piece is struck in a crisp single piece of bright white metal. The grand structural backdrop is formed by the distinctive diamond-cut Star of the Order of the Thistle. Superimposed over the upper point of the star is a finely detailed St. Edward's Queen's Crown, while the central loop of a French light infantry bugle horn highlights the intertwined regimental monogram letters "HLI". Positioned directly beneath the instrument is a flowing, downward-arching banner scroll bearing the battle honor "ASSAYE". An intricately rendered elephant standing firmly on a solid ground baseline anchors the lower point of the emblem. The hollow-struck reverse is completely unmarked and retains a pair of original copper or brass wire loops designed for an authentication split-pin attachment
