Hertfordshire Regiment Cap Badge

Under Review

Material: Gilt brass
Size: 27mm w × 40mm h
Description: The visual layout features a circular garter band carrying the raised capital text designation "THE HERTFORDSHIRE REGIMENT" wrapped in an inner beaded frame. Centerpiece to the voided middle is a detailed, crouching hart (stag) facing left on a small grassy ground line, its complex multi-pointed antlers stretching upward toward the inner rim. Surmounting the circular band at the apex is the Tudor Crown, commonly known as the King's Crown (KC), indicating its service era. The reverse features a deep hollow-back profile fitted with a long, flat vertical mounting slider that has a distinct, small reinforcing metal stabilization plate brazed behind its upper base joint, crisply stamped with the single country-of-origin hallmark "ENGLAND".
Circa: 1908-1952
Notes:

The crouching hart emblem traces its visual lineage back to the ancient county seal of Hertfordshire, uniquely representing a mature stag crossing a shallow river or "ford". The Hertfordshire Regiment operated as a celebrated line infantry unit of the Territorial Army, seeing extensive frontline action across both World Wars before ultimately being amalgamated in 1961.
