Control Commission Germany Cap Badge

Under Review

Material: Gilt brass (gilding metal)
Size: 45mm w × 45mm h
Description: This compelling artifact features an elegant, stylized monogram of three intertwined letters reading "CCG" positioned directly in the center. The bold lettering is beautifully cradled by a heavy, traditional laurel wreath that meets at the base with a structured ribbon bow fastening. Measuring exactly 45mm by 45mm, the entire open-work badge is die-struck from solid gilding brass, exhibiting a rich golden finish with deep, age-toned patination outlining the individual leaves.
Reverse: Plain reverse with two copper lugs for cap mounting; die-struck single-piece construction.
Circa: 1945-1957
Notes:
The initials on this badge represent the Control Commission for Germany (British Element), a unique organization comprised of both civil servants and military officers who took over the local government, housing, transport, and de-Nazification programs within the British zone of northwestern Germany following the fall of the Third Reich. Rather than being worn by frontline combat infantry, this badge was specifically issued to specialized military government staff, regional police advisors, and humanitarian reconstruction officers working to restabilize the post-war European economy.
