Description: This two-piece military insignia showcases the stylized shield of the Board of Ordnance rendered in bright white metal, depicting three stacked field cannons horizontally aligned beneath three cannonballs. This central shield is cleanly sweated onto a warm brass garter backing that bears the historic Order of the Garter motto, "HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE". The entire design is surmounted by a distinctively detailed King's Tudor Crown and framed below by a multi-tiered scroll inscribed with the corps motto, "SUA TELA TONANTI".
Reverse: Unmarked slider
Circa: 1918-1952
Notes:
The Latin motto stamped onto the lower scroll, "SUA TELA TONANTI", translates to "To the Thunderer his own Weapons", a powerful phrase honoring the regiment's massive responsibility for supplying weapons, ammunition, and gear to soldiers on the front lines.
