Description: This die-struck brass military cap insignia worn by members of the British Royal Army Ordnance Corps (RAOC). The central design features a heraldic shield displaying three stacked field artillery cannons topped by three cannonballs, entirely encircled by the Order of the Garter band inscribed with the Latin motto "HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE" (Shame on him who thinks evil of it). The entire emblem is surmounted by the stylized Tudor Crown, also known as the King's Crown, which is fixed at the top of the Garter loop. Flowing beautifully beneath the central shield is an multi-part scroll bearing the clear title "ROYAL ARMY ORDNANCE CORPS". The back contains a secure, unbranded vertical metal slider bracket meant to firmly anchor the emblem onto a soft service dress peaked cap or side cap.
