Under Review

Material: Cloth

Size: 55mm W x 85mm H

Description: This physical military insignia represents the elite combat units that fought across North Africa and Northwest Europe under the British Army. The distinctive emblem features a stylized desert rodent natively found in Egypt, which became synonymous with operational cunning during the Western Desert Campaign. This rectangular sleeve insignia was expertly manufactured using thick wool-thread embroidery over a coarse woolen uniform fabric base. It represents one of the most famous tactical identifiers of World War II, maintaining its legendary identity from Egypt all the way to Berlin.

Circa: 1940s

Notes:

This insignia was worn by the British 7th Armoured Division, the famed “Desert Rats,” who distinguished themselves in the North African Campaign of WWII and later in Northwest Europe. The jerboa became an enduring emblem of mobility and resilience in armoured warfare.
