British Army Parachute Qualification Wings – Cloth

Under Review

Material: Cloth embroidery on khaki backing.

Size: 85 mm x 35 mm.

Description: The image displays an authentic British Army Parachutist Badge earned by airborne forces during the mid-20th century. The central motif highlights a prominent, multi-shingle parachute canopy embroidered in cream-white silk thread, supported by tightly grouped rigging lines that anchor into a compact lower riser block. Extending outward from both sides of the canopy are two highly detailed, symmetrical outstretched wings stitched in a contrasting sky-blue (Cambridge blue) thread pattern.

Circa: 1941-1948

Notes:

These wings were worn by qualified parachutists of British airborne forces, including members of the Parachute Regiment and related airborne units. The design is closely associated with the Second World War period, when British airborne forces were formed and parachute qualification became a visible mark of specialist training.
