3rd Castletown Scouting Shoulder Strip Badge

Under Review

Material: Cloth with embroidered thread.

Size: 65mm w x 10 mm h.

Description: This artifact is an authentic, vintage scout uniform shoulder strip patch issued for members belonging to the 3rd Castletown Scout Group. The horizontal ribbon insignia is machine-embroidered with bold, block capital lettering that clearly states the group designation reading "3RD CASTLETOWN". The lettering is struck in a rich crimson or bright red thread directly onto a woven white or light-cream cotton backing canvas substrate. This flat, sew-on fabric strip was specifically designed to be positioned at the very top of the right sleeve of a scout uniform shirt or jersey, just below the shoulder seam, to identify the wearer's local home group during assemblies and regional jamborees.

Circa: 1940s–1970s.
