Material: Woven / embroidered cloth.
Size: 42mm w x 42mm h.
Description: The square cloth insignia features a multi-colored machine-embroidered layout rendered cleanly over a grey woven twill fabric backing pane. The central focal axis displays a thin-bordered heraldic shield stitched in a matching grey thread enclosing a prominent yellow and red St. Cuthbert's Cross configuration. Positioned directly above the central cross, the geographic boundary title "DURHAM" is embroidered horizontally across the upper shield face in bold golden-yellow block capital lettering followed by a matching punctuation period. The outer edge of the square badge is finished cleanly with a tight, heavily stitched white merrowed border trim. The slightly frayed perimeter stitching indicates direct removal from a camp blanket or uniform shirt sleeve after an active period of field utility.
Circa: Mid-20th century
