The Scottish Horse Imperial Crown Collar Badge

Under Review

Material: Gilding metal (brass)
Size: 25 mm W × 35 mm H
Description: This original military insignia is a genuine collar badge issued to personnel of the Scottish Horse regiment. Struck in solid gilding metal, the central layout features an elegant oval band inscribed with the regimental title "SCOTTISH HORSE 1900," super-imposed directly by a prominent, polished Saint Andrew's saltire cross. The top of the oval is ensigned by a crisp, high-relief presentation of the historical Crown of Scotland, instantly identifiable by its specific un-voided framework and dense, interpretive interior velvet lobes. The lower border is framed by layered scrolls proudly cataloging the unit's Second Boer War battle honors: "SOUTH AFRICA 1900 1901 1902". The entire central device is beautifully flanked by an asymmetrical wreath, displaying rugged juniper leaves along the left flank and polished bay laurel leaves trailing down the right. The flat reverse side features an unmarked finish equipped with its authentic, integrated dual split-pin fastening lugs.
Circa: Early to Mid 20th Century
Notes:

Because the crown design remained entirely consistent over fifty-six years of active service, premium variations within this series are determined strictly by manufacturing methods and material finishes rather than basic layout changes.
