Treasure detail

Early Soviet Red Surcharged Worker Stamp

Under Review

Description: This is an authentic postal definitive issue from the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic (RSFSR), demonstrating the urgent and chaotic printing modifications of the early Soviet hyperinflation period. The underlying base design features a symbolic proletarian worker gazing upward, printed in slate-blue ink with the early state abbreviation "РСФСР" positioned inside a top heraldic shield. To adjust the stamp for soaring inflation, a heavy red typographical surcharge was applied across the face of the design, featuring a prominent central numeric value "5" placed directly above the currency abbreviation "РУБ." (Rubles).
