Treasure detail

Soviet Steel Worker Definitive Stamp

Under Review

Description: This is an authentic postal definitive issue from the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR), belonging to the highly recognizable post-war 1958 Ninth Definitive Issue. The central vignette showcases an exemplary example of late Stalinist and early Khrushchev-era Socialist Realism propaganda art, focusing on the bust-length profile of a determined steel factory worker facing right. He wears a protective industrial work cap fitted with safety goggles pushed up onto the brim, while a towering industrial metallurgy complex with prominent vertical blast furnace smokestacks fills the background on the right. Encased inside a sleek white panel at the lower edge, a dedicated value step sets the face value denomination as "60 коп" (60 Kopecks), transitioning seamlessly into the state postal registration title "ПОЧТА СССР" (Postage USSR). A small black ink handstamp smudge clips the upper frame line near the numeric plate identification mark "9".
