Treasure detail

Qatar 1967 Diamond Jubilee of Scouting Commemorative

Under Review

Description: The stamp honors the 60th anniversary of the Boy Scouts movement with an artful, split-diamond layout. The left diamond features Brownsea Island in England, depicting the historic 1907 campsite and the British Union Jack flag to signify where Lord Baden-Powell conducted the very first experimental Scout camp. The right diamond highlights the snowy peaks of Idaho, U.S.A., where the 12th World Scout Jamboree was hosted in the summer of 1967. Centered between these two landmarks is the universal Scout fleur-de-lis emblem resting above a bold 1 Dirham (1 DH.) denomination marker. The top header neatly includes the country name in Arabic script along with the text اليوبيل الماسي للكشافة (The Diamond Jubilee of Scouting), balancing the English inscriptions arranged across the lower margin.

Circa: 1967

Condition: MNH

Notes:

Issued as part of a wider scouting set, the design connects the movement’s founding camp with its later international gathering in the United States.
