Poland Wawel Castle Courtyard 60-Groszy Provisional Overprint

Under Review

Description: This vintage Polish postage stamp showcases a highly detailed engraving of the Renaissance-style arcaded courtyard inside Wawel Castle (Dziedziniec Zamku na Wawelu) in Kraków. The base design is printed in a monochromatic plum or dark lilac ink on an off-white paper stock, bearing the top commemorative inscription "ROK ODRODZENIA" (Year of Renaissance) and the baseline country identifier "POCZTA POLSKA". A tiny label text directly beneath the central building illustration reads "DZIEDZINIEC ZAMKU NA WAWELU". Microscopic margins attribute the production to "P.W.P.W." on the bottom left and master engraver "CZ. SŁANIA" on the bottom right. The original denomination layout on the lower right has been blocked out by a dense black geometric box, and a prominent black typographical overprint reading "60 GR" has been struck near the upper-left corner of the building structure.
