New Zealand Harvesting

Under Review

Description: This vintage postage and revenue stamp was issued by New Zealand as a key component of its widely praised Second Pictorial Definitive series. The central engraving displays a detailed agricultural scene, highlighting a team of heavy draft horses pulling a mechanical reaper-and-binder machine through a dense, ripe field of grain. Flanking this central farm vignette are two highly ornate vertical borders intricately embellished with traditional, stylized Māori woodcarving patterns, incorporating distinct tiki masks at the base of each pillar. The top margin proudly carries the country name while the lower corners clearly frame the “6d” (sixpence) face value on opposite sides of a bold "POSTAGE AND REVENUE" banner.
