African Waterway Crossing

Under Review

Description: The stamp displays a sweeping landscape view of the River Niger interspersed with numerous rocky islands and hills. Stretching across the middle ground is the low profile of the Jebba Bridge, a vital railway span crossing the water. A vintage steam locomotive pulling a train is illustrated moving along the bottom left edge, with a stylized plume of smoke rising upward. Inside this curling smoke billow sits the Tudor Crown symbol. The country name "NIGERIA" is printed prominently in bold, capital letters across the upper left-hand side. A rectangular white banner at the bottom reads "JEBBA BRIDGE AND RIVER NIGER." The face value denomination "3d" is clearly marked in the lower right-hand corner. A dark circular postmark crosses the right half of the design, indicating the stamp was postally used.
