Mozambique Company Triangular Airmail Stamp

Under Review

Description: This vintage philatelic artifact is an authentic, triangle-shaped postage stamp featuring a highly distinct three-sided perforated border structure. The central vignette showcases a highly detailed, black-and-white recess-printed engraving of a twin-engine high-wing monoplane soaring gracefully over the sprawling river delta and coastal town layout of Beira. Positioned directly at the upper peak is a prominent slate-blue stepped emblem displaying a bold numeral "5" resting over a stylized "CENTAVOS" denomination banner. The bottom baseline is bounded by a wide blue banner containing the uppercase colonial company title "COMPANHIA DE MOÇAMBIQUE". Just above the company name is a long white panel inscribed with the Portuguese text "INAVGURAÇÃO DO CORREIO AEREO–EMISSÃO COMEMORATIVA 1935". A very light, partial black ink postmark line strikes through the lower right-hand corner.

Circa: 1935
