Description: The stamp employs a vertical rectangular format to feature a realistic bi-colored illustration of the spotted seahorse, Hippocampus kuda. The creature is rendered in a soft, reddish-brown hue, displaying a heavily segmented exoskeleton, a horse-like head structure, and a tightly curled prehensile tail wrapped around a slender green blade of aquatic seagrass. Faint horizontal white lines ripple across the pale mint-green background wash to represent a tranquil coastal current. The scientific classification "HIPPOCAMPUS KUDA" is cleanly printed in a simple sans-serif typeface in the upper-right quadrant. Positioned in the lower-left corner is the bold face value designation "2 CENTS," while the name of the issuing territory "SINGAPORE" stretches elegantly across the entire bottom base.

Circa: 1960s

Condition: Unused - Hinged

Notes:

This issue served as the lowest denomination within Singapore's milestone 1962 Marine Life Definitive Series, marking a thematic pivot toward celebrating regional ocean ecology. The spotted seahorse depicted is an iconic native species found throughout Singapore's local mangrove estuaries, harbors, and shallow coastal shoals like the Merambong Shoal.
