Malta Maltese Girl 1-Shilling Black Definitive

Under Review

Description: This vintage Maltese definitive postage stamp features two distinct illustrated panels within an ornate geometric frame. The left panel depicts a full-length illustration of a woman wearing a traditional għonella (also known as a faldetta), a voluminous hooded cloak unique to the Maltese islands. The right side holds a prominent circular frame displaying a forward-facing portrait of King George VI in formal military attire, surmounted by the imperial crown. The top boundary bears the capitalized inscription "MALTA", while the bottom left explicitly labels the scene as "MALTESE GIRL". The face value of "1/-" (one shilling) is nested within a bold frame beneath a Maltese cross. The entire specimen is printed in a deep monochrome black ink on off-white paper stock, displaying crisp comb perforations and a partial black circular handstamp postmark across the center.
