The Ceylon Colombo Harbour Definitive

Under Review

Description: This philatelic specimen is an authentic 6-cent (6c) denomination pictorial postage stamp issued by the British colonial administration of Ceylon prior to its independence as Sri Lanka. Masterfully recess-printed by the renowned London engraving firm Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co., the detailed central vignette portrays an aerial perspective of Colombo Harbour complete with docked ships, breaking waves, and breakwater walls rendered in a distinct steel-blue ink. An artistic frame wrapped in delicate palm frond iconography surrounds the harbor view, anchored by a prominent circular medallion in the top-left corner displaying the profile portrait of King George VI. The island's colonial name "CEYLON" proudly arches across the top right margin, balanced perfectly by the large bold denomination positioned in the bottom-right corner.
