Description: This vertical Meiji-era postage stamp showcases the 16-petal Imperial Chrysanthemum Crest (Kikumon) centered prominently inside an ornate circular medallion structure. Printed in a rich, uniform rose-red formulation, the stamp features traditional Kanji text along the inner curved band reading "大日本帝國郵便" (Great Japan Imperial Post), balanced directly over explicit value characters denoting "参銭" (3 Sen). The bottom two corner tablets house the Arabic numeral "3" on the left and the matching English currency abbreviation "SN." on the right. Heavy, dark black ink strokes from an original hand-stamped circular date stamp (CDS) postal cancellation cover a major portion of the top right face.
