Jamaica – King George VI Definitive

Under Review

Description: This definitive stamp features a side-profile portrait of King George VI facing right, enclosed in a central circular frame. The top left and right corners prominently display the face value of 1/2d (half penny) inside square frames, beneath which ornate scrollwork and stylized laurel branches decorate the vertical columns. A stylized royal crown rests precisely above the central vignette. The bottom border stretches across the width of the design, featuring the name of the issuing territory, Jamaica, printed in bold, block capital letters. The entire design is printed in a single shade of deep green against a cream-white paper backing with standard comb perforations.

Circa: 1938–1952
Condition: Used
Notes:

The half-penny served as the workhorse rate for basic printed papers and local postcards.
