Description: This individual postage stamp features a highly detailed, monochrome carmine-red intaglio engraving printed on cream-colored paper. The central artwork displays the right-facing profile portrait of King George VI, framed inside a large circular medallion surmounted by the imperial crown. The top corners host identical rectangular boxes displaying the numeric face value "1d", while the lower margin is anchored by a bold, wide banner carrying the country name "JAMAICA". The vertical sides are framed with classical columns adorned with palm or laurel leaves at the base, and the entire surface is marked by a prominent, dark black ink machine or hand-stamped postal cancellation that runs diagonally down across the King's face.
