The portrait is elegantly contained within a prominent circular medallion framed by a soft grey rectangular background block. A stylized ribbon banner rests directly below the circle, displaying the word "POSTE", which sits immediately above the grand capitalized inscription "REPVBBLICA ITALIANA". The upper-left corner displays the word "LIRE" while the upper-right corner features the face value numeral "5" printed in a matching dark grey ink.
