Description: This stamp is a 15-lire definitive issue from the Republic of Italy (Poste Italiane). The vertically formatted composition depicts a local maritime laborer standing on a slipway, viewed from behind as he meticulously works on the massive wooden hull of a traditional vessel. Looming in the background, anchoring the harbor scene, stands a historic coastal defense watchtower under a lightly clouded sky. The bold country inscription "POSTE ITALIANE" spans the upper margin. A flowing decorative scroll nestled near the base carries the regional designation "LO SCALO (LIGURIA)". The face value "15 LIRE" is clearly separated into two corner blocks framing the title banner.
