Description: This photogravure-printed, emerald-green definitive stamp from India spotlights a clear cartographic map outline of the nation. The central mainland layout is positioned against a solid, dark circular backdrop, bordered cleanly on the left margin by a highly decorative vertical strip containing traditional scrolling lotus flower vines. The country title "INDIA" is stacked uniformly along the right-hand margin, while the lower baseline reads "POSTAGE" adjacent to the corrected 1 N.P. face value in western digits and its corresponding shorthand Devanagari script notation. A heavy, dark post office cancellation mark heavily scores the upper and right hemispheres of the graphic design to verify its completed travel through the domestic mail system.
