India Queen Victoria 2 Rupees Revenue Stamp

Under Review

Description: The central design features a left-facing profile portrait of a young Queen Victoria sculpted by William Wyon, set within a crisp circular medallion inscribed with the uppercase text "GOVERNMENT OF INDIA" along the upper arch and the verbal face value "TWO RUPEES" along the base [½ Rupee - Victoria - India - British – Numista]. This central medallion is flanked on both sides by oversized, highly prominent block lettering reading "2 R" that instantly establishes the high-value two-rupee denomination. Intricate, woven geometric guilloché lathe work frames the entire layout, adding an elegant layer of security and detail to the background. This used specimen demonstrates exceptional primary ink preservation, showing a uniform light purple tone coupled with subtle evidence of a faint, embossed legal circular postmark centered across the portrait.
