Isle of Man Royal Accession Miniature Sheet

Under Review

Description: This philatelic miniature sheet features a se-tenant row of five identical 23p postage stamps issued to honor the 40th anniversary of the accession of Queen Elizabeth II. Each individual stamp displays a photograph of the Queen dressed in a vibrant pink coat and matching hat during her official Royal Visit to the island in 1979. Behind her stands a formal line of guards wearing traditional bearskin caps. The upper margin of the white sheetlet prominently displays the bold text "ISLE OF MAN" alongside the historic date range "1952 - 1992." The island’s distinct regional identity is anchored on both upper corners by defensive shields containing the classic Manx triskelion emblem. A repetitive, security-style background pattern made of small green "ER" monograms and royal crowns runs seamlessly beneath the lower half of the stamp strip.

Circa: 1992

Condition: MNH Intact miniature block

Notes:

The photograph showcased across this entire strip captures a precise moment from the Queen's historic 1979 tour when she presided over the millennium celebrations of Tynwald, the self-governing island's parliament. This specific item features a unique five-digit production serial number printed in the top right corner of the border margin, which helps collectors trace individual sheet pressings.
