Description: This definitive postage stamp from the Hungarian People's Republic depicts the sleek, modernist facade of the Újpesti Állami Áruház (Újpest State Department Store). Printed in a muted sage-green ink palette, the monochrome composition presents a sharp perspective view of the grand multi-story retail complex, highlighting its uniform windows, expansive street-level storefronts, and tiny pedestrian figures gathering outside. The denomination "20f" (20 fillér) sits boxed in the upper-left layout. The location text "UJPESTI ÁLLAMI ÁRUHÁZ" runs along the top inner margin, while the bold state postal inscription "MAGYAR POSTA" stretches continuously across the base frame. A sweeping, light-brown circular postmark cancellation lines the upper right quadrant of the perforated paper grid.
